Mainframe Remote Printer Setup


Overview


In order to print from mainframe applications (IFIS, ISIS, PPS), a network printer needs to be registered through ITS.  Follow the steps below to register your network printer for printing from the mainframe.

Steps to Take


  1. Create a ticket requesting printer setup for printing from the mainframe.
  2. Enter the following information in your ticket:
    • Username
    • IP Address of printer
    • Physical Location of printer (Building, Room Number)
  3. Once remote printer is setup, you will receive a confirmation.  Your printer will receive a designated 'U' number (U123, U698, etc.).  

If you encounter issues after your printer has been setup, please submit a ticket along with the printer U number so the issue can be researched.
