Critical Concepts

• Find where mail sent to your @ucsd.edu email address is delivered with the Account Lookup Tool.

UCSD Gmail Account

1. Enable IMAP

1. Sign into UC San Diego Gmail at mail.google.com. 
   1. Select your UC San Diego email or click Add Account.
2. Click the gear icon and select Settings.
3. Under the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, select Enable IMAP.
4. Click Save Changes.

2. Add Account to iOS

1. Open the Settings application, then go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Select Add Account → Google.

3. Sign in with your Google Account

• Email: Your UC San Diego email address
• Password: Your password

1. Add Account to iOS

1. Open the Settings application, then go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Select Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account.

2. New Account

• Name: How your name will display
• Email: Your UC San Diego email address
• Password: Your password
• Description: What you would like to name your mailbox

3. Configure Account

Select IMAP from the two account types.

Incoming Mail Server

• Host Name: acsmail.ucsd.edu
• User Name: If your email is jsmith@ucsd.edu, your username is "jsmith"
• Password: Your password

Outgoing Mail Server

• Host Name: smtp.ucsd.edu
• User Name: If your email is jsmith@ucsd.edu, your username is "jsmith"
• Password: Your password
