There are two primary Summer Housing Programs: the acceleRATE Program for current on-campus residents during the Spring quarter, and the Traditional Program for non-residents, incoming students, and visiting students. Summer Housing Programs – Undergraduate Students
Housing • Dining • Hospitality (HDH) will remain open and operational for summer sessions. Students selecting to live on campus for summer will be assigned to available spaces consisting of double, triple, and some single bedrooms. The application for Summer Housing will open on the Summer Housing website during the Spring quarter.

What are the eligibility requirements for HDH Summer Housing Programs?
All summer housing residents must be enrolled in at least one unit to be eligible for HDH on campus housing.
Can I apply for just a specific Summer Session length?
Yes, when students apply for Summer Housing, they will specify which Summer Housing Session they would like to live on campus for. These sessions correspond with the available Summer Session lengths and will affect your contracted move in and move out days.
What is the cost of Summer Housing?
The Summer Housing costs will depend on which housing program you are in, your dining plan, and room type. Please refer to the Summer Housing Website for the cost breakdown of your designated housing program.
Are dining plans available during the Summer?
Yes, residents of the HDH Summer Housing Programs will have access to a dining plan. Please refer to the Summer Housing Website for the dining plan options for your designated housing program.
I currently live on campus, which housing program am I eligible for?
Residents currently living on campus during the Spring Quarter will be part of the HDH acceleRATE Summer Program designed to help current UC San Diego student’s progress towards their degree more affordably.
This program is designed for current housing residents (meaning they live on campus during Spring Quarter) who will be enrolled in UC San Diego Summer Session.

I do not live on campus currently, which housing program am I eligible for?
Non-residents (students who are not currently housed on campus), visitors, incoming freshmen, and incoming transfer students enrolled at the university in the summer will be housed in the Traditional Summer Housing Program.
This program is designed for both new incoming freshmen and new incoming transfer students, new incoming international students, UC continuing students not currently housed on campus, and visiting students who will be enrolled in UC San Diego Summer Session.

I currently live on campus and am applying for Summer Housing. Will I need to move to a new room during the Summer?
Yes, students will be assigned a new room for Summer Housing and will need to move to their new space at their designated move in time. If you currently live on campus during the Spring quarter and are moving into your summer housing space for the start of Summer Session I, then you will have the opportunity to apply for Early Move In, allowing you to move into your summer room assignment early.
If you live in one of the designated Summer Housing neighborhoods during the Spring quarter, then please email our Allocations team, at ucsdhousing@ucsd.edu, about the possibility of maintaining your current room assignment.
What dining facilities are open during the summer?
A limited number of HDH dining halls and markets will be open during all Academic Year breaks.

I’m not actively enrolled in summer courses but will be interning or working on the UCSD campus. Can I live on campus during the summer?
The HDH Summer Housing Programs require students to be enrolled in summer courses to be eligible for HDH on campus housing. However, summer housing may be available through the Hospitality and Conference Services team. Please refer to the Conference Services team about potential Summer Housing Opportunities and Eligibility requirements.
