Overview
Most questions about your financial aid should go to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. However, Student Financial Solutions (SFS) can help you with general questions about how aid appears on your student account and billing statement.
Understanding Your Financial Aid Status
Pending Financial Aid
Before the quarter begins, you may see aid listed as "Pending" on your account.
- What it means: The money is scheduled to arrive but has not yet been officially added to your account balance.
- Action: You do not need to do anything while aid is pending; it will automatically apply to your fees once the disbursement date arrives.
How Aid is Applied to Your Account (Disbursement)
When your financial aid is "disbursed," it is paid into your student account. You will see these as individual line items under the Payments/Credits column.
Financial aid pays for your charges in this specific order:
- Past Due Charges: Any unpaid balances from previous terms.
- Current Tuition and Registration Fees.
- Housing Charges.
- Miscellaneous Items: Such as parking permits or library fines.
Note for TRIP Students: If you are enrolled in the Triton Registration Installment Plan (TRIP), your aid will be applied to your installments based on their due dates.
