UC San Diego Housing: How to Apply for Housing (Incoming Students)

Overview

This article provides step-by-step instructions for incoming students on how to apply for on-campus housing for undergraduate students at UC San Diego. It outlines required prerequisites, where to apply, and what to expect after submitting your application.

Applying for housing is a multi-step process. Completing the application is only the first step. Students must continue to monitor the Undergraduate Housing Portal and Important Dates webpage for upcoming steps and deadlines.

Before You Apply

Before you can access the housing application, you must complete the following:

  • Accept your Offer of Admission by your given deadline
  • Activate your Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Activate your UC San Diego email account

After completing these steps, please allow 48–72 hours for access to the Undergraduate Housing Portal.

You will receive an invitation email with instructions to begin the housing application.

How to Apply for Housing

Step 1: Access the Undergraduate Housing Portal

  • Log in using your UC San Diego SSO credentials

Step 2: Start the Application
